Under general direction of the Environmental and Facilities Unit (EFU) Senior Oil and Gas Engineer (Supervisor), the Associate Oil and Gas Engineer will independently perform engineering work related to tanks, vessels, and associated facilities operations, maintenance, and compliance for the Environmental, Facilities, and Field Surveillance Group within the Southern District Office of California Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM, the Division). The incumbent performs assignments that require a high degree of knowledge and skill in hydrocarbon technology, team leadership, communication, data management, presentation and engineering work, including operations, production, and oil field practice.

Working Conditions

This position is located in Long Beach and is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, with employees required to work in-person at 3780 Kilroy Airport Way, Suite 400, Long Beach, CA 90806 . A t least three days of remote work and up to two days of in-office work per week is the available hybrid telework schedule for this position. Alternative work locations will not be considered.

Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview but must show proof of residence in California prior to being eligible for appointment.
