Summary:
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) provides strategic and operational physician leadership for Memorial Hospital Miramar (MHM), a community hospital with advanced emergency, maternity, surgical, and specialty services, and Memorial Hospital Pembroke (MHP), a full-service community hospital with strengths in emergency, surgical, behavioral health, and rehabilitation. The CMO is responsible for advancing clinical quality, patient safety, physician engagement, and operational integration across both facilities, aligning with Memorial Healthcare System's mission to "heal the body, mind and spirit of those we touch."
Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance: Ensures compliance with all relevant federal and state licensing and accrediting organizations pertaining to clinical care.Clinical Leadership: Sets the strategic vision and agenda for clinical improvement, including patient outcomes, patient-centered care, and resource utilization.Strategic Imperatives: Partners with executive team to identify areas of opportunity for clinical growth and improvement in clinical efficienciesMedical Staff Relations: Partners with medical staff leadership to promote a positive environment, engagement and resolve medical staff issues.Protocol and Care Pathway Development: Collaborates with clinical staff to develop, evaluate and implement clinical care protocols and care pathways.Operations Management: Partners with executive team to effectively improve clinical operations.Change Management: Leads change management processes related to clinical improvement and optimization of hospital-related clinical activitiesQuality and Safety: Serves as physician leader for a culture of quality and safety, designing and implementing comprehensive programs to achieve objectives.

Additional Job Information:
Complexity of Work: Substantial track record of leadership in a complex, high-performing, multi-hospital health system.
Required Work Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive clinical and physician leadership experience in a complex hospital or health system with experience in both community hospital operations and system integration.
Other Information: Additional Education Info: Doctoral degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited School of Medicine or College of Osteopathic Medicine. MD or DO degree, along with primary and/or sub-specialty board certification, and current licensure or eligibility to practice medicine in the state of Florida is required. An advanced degree in healthcare or business-related field is highly desirable.
