As a Pharmacy Operations Supervisor at Walgreens, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations, overseeing administrative activities to ensure a seamless pharmacy workflow and enhance the patient experience. You will serve as a certified pharmacy technician and assist in managing pharmacy personnel.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Operating pharmacy systems to gather patient and drug information for prescription processing under the pharmacist's supervision.
  • Supervising pharmacy technicians and cashiers, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Leading the selection, scheduling, and training of pharmacy technicians, providing coaching and performance management support.

Customer Experience

  • Engaging with customers and patients to offer assistance with products and services, resolving complaints, and answering non-clinical questions to deliver an outstanding experience.
  • Building strong relationships with customers by anticipating their needs and proactively recommending services that enhance their pharmacy experience.

Operations

  • Assisting pharmacists with patient care, including patient registration, prescription data entry, and medication preparation.
  • Delegating and directing non-clinical work to ensure timely task completion and efficient workflow.
  • Preparing reports and records as directed by the Pharmacy Manager or pharmacist.
  • Managing daily pharmacy operations to ensure cleanliness, organization, and adequate supply levels.
  • Ensuring compliance with inventory management tasks under the guidance of the pharmacist.

People & Performance Management

  • Overseeing performance management for technicians, including recommendations regarding discipline and termination where necessary.
  • Managing technician hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling while ensuring adherence to training timelines.
  • Identifying training gaps among team members and facilitating necessary training and development.

Training & Personal Development

  • Maintaining certification through designated training programs as required by the company.
  • Enhancing knowledge and skills related to pharmacy and healthcare through continuous learning.

Communication

  • Relay important messages and information within the pharmacy team, participating in key meetings and discussions.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Prior experience with Walgreens, with an exceptional performance evaluation.

The current salary range for this position is $22.50 to $31.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
