Clean Harbors is seeking a Lead Diesel Technician to join our safety-conscious team As a Lead Diesel Technician, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the shop, ensuring all maintenance work is supervised, the company fleet is within DOT compliance, and all service and parts records are maintained accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritize health and safety by adhering to all safe work practices, policies, and protocols.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs, including offsite road service calls.
  • Ensure daily checklists for unit operations are completed.
  • Immediately communicate any discovered issues with equipment or units.
  • Complete and submit all paperwork required for tracking PM schedules.
  • Conduct Safety Checks and Annual Vehicle Inspections per regulations.
  • Ensure equipment is parked in compliance with facility permits and DOT regulations.
  • Meet health and safety standard operating procedures with all work conducted.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Understand and adhere to Clean Compliance Standards.

Qualifications

What it Takes to Join Clean Harbors:

  • 5-7 years of experience with diesel engines.
  • At least 1 year of experience with DOT inspections is required.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in all areas including electrical, computer systems, ECMs, fuel and air systems, ABS, hydraulic systems, and engines.
  • Demonstrated expertise in diagnostic, repair, and maintenance of heavy-duty forklifts, roll-off trucks, pickups, box trucks, tractors, and tankers.
  • Proficient in tooling and equipment diagnostic, repair, and maintenance.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug test, and physical exam upon hire.
