Schedule Details/Additional Information:

$10,000 Sign-on Bonus eligible with distance-based relocation available. $2,000 Sign-on Bonus eligible for evening shifts at ASLMC.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our outstanding Operating Room team at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, the largest hospital in Wisconsin, providing innovative care to patients around the world. Your contributions as a Surgical Technologist will significantly impact daily operations and patient care.

Schedule/Hours: Full-time, evening shift with options for 8 or 10-hour shifts. Monday to Friday, with on-call requirements, mainly overnight call (5-8 slots) and 1-2 weekend slots within an 8-week scheduling window. Arrival within 30-minutes is required for on-call duties.

Major Responsibilities:

• Ensure a safe and efficient area conducive to optimal patient care through aseptic surgical techniques.
• Prepare materials, supplies, and equipment for various surgical procedures.
• Set up the operating room and operate equipment as needed.
• Assist Surgeons as a Second Assistant when necessary.
• Notify appropriate staff regarding equipment or supply issues.
• Transport patients and equipment as required.
• Maintain specialty carts, checking their condition and availability.
• Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific care for patients, understanding their unique needs.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association must be obtained within 6 months unless decided otherwise by the department leader.

Education Required:

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.

Experience Required:

• No prior experience necessary.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

• Proficient in aseptic surgical techniques and operating room equipment.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to maintain annual hospital-based certifications.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Capable of working in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, 20 lbs. overhead, and carry 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
• Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform sliding transfers with assistance.
• Exposure to various hazards including mechanical, electrical, chemical, and biological.
• Functional sight and hearing are essential, along with wearing personal protective equipment.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and twist regularly during shifts.
• Must operate equipment essential to job duties.
