Your Role - Key Responsibilities

  • Safely load, secure, transport, and offload CarMax vehicles using a company-assigned car hauler.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of vehicles to support inventory movement and customer satisfaction.
  • Operate equipment with a focus on safety, efficiency, and cleanliness, maintaining the truck and trailer.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment per DOT and CarMax standards.
  • Maintain accurate DOT logs and documentation to ensure compliance.
  • Professionally represent CarMax when interacting with vendors, store associates, and the public.

As a Fleet Driver, you will help keep our operations running smoothly and safely. This is more than just a driving position; it’s an opportunity to represent a trusted brand built on teamwork and integrity.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Valid state-issued commercial driver’s license Class A (CDL) is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Class A CDL driving experience is required. Military heavy/medium tactical vehicle experience considered.
  • For current CarMax Associates, eligibility includes having a Class A CDL and 2 years of CMV driving experience at CarMax with no preventable safety incidents in the last 2 years.
  • Clean driving record with no serious violations in the past three years.
  • Ability to meet all DOT & FMCSA qualification requirements.
  • Capacity to lift heavy objects and winch vehicles during loading.
  • Proficiency in operating a 10-speed transmission is a must.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.

The hourly rate for this position is: $26.20 - $44.60

Benefits Overview

As a full-time hourly or commission/incentive eligible associate, you can earn:

  • Up to 48 hours of sick time annually accrued per pay period and between 80 to 200 hours of vacation time based on tenure.
  • For 8 hours of pay during 6 scheduled holidays per year, plus 1 floating holiday. Eligible for Holiday Premium Pay if you work on a scheduled holiday due to business needs.

Full-time salaried associates enjoy paid time away with no set limit for various needs, subject to manager approval.
