The Opportunity
As a proactive Intermediate Business Insurance Consultant, you will engage in an inbound sales environment, offering tailored insurance and risk management solutions to business owners. You will utilize a comprehensive suite of Commercial Insurance Products to meet the unique needs of both members and non-members.
Your expertise in the insurance marketplace, along with established relationships with underwriters and an understanding of carrier contracts, will enable you to secure the best coverage for our clients' businesses.
Throughout your day, you will handle incoming calls (about 7-10 calls daily) regarding business insurance, and follow up with both member and non-member customers. USAA provides extensive training (13-15 weeks) to ensure you are well-versed in our product offerings and can independently assist our clients.
Training Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Central Time (9:00 am - 5:30 pm Eastern Time). Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:30 am - 6:00 pm Central Time (10:30 am - 7:00 pm Eastern Time).
This position is remote within the continental U.S. and may require occasional business travel. It is a full-time, hourly, non-commission role.
What You Will Do:
- Adopt a consultative approach to identify customer needs, build strong relationships, and provide tailored solutions through various products and services.
- Establish and maintain relationships between clients and insurance carriers, showcasing your technical knowledge to communicate effective solutions.
- Apply compliance and insurance standards to limit Errors & Omissions exposure through meticulous documentation.
- Assess businesses to provide accurate risk management and risk mitigation solutions.
- Conduct account reviews utilizing carrier renewal cycles to offer consultative guidance that addresses client risk profiles.
- Stay informed on industry trends and changes in regulations to enhance your understanding of key technical and financial issues.
- Utilize advanced knowledge of Agency Management Systems and CRM tools to select appropriate products and carriers efficiently.
- Work closely with underwriters to negotiate endorsements, renewals, and remarketing for coverage decisions.
- Evaluate Insurance to Value on diverse property types, ensuring accurate replacement values reflect unique property features.
- Deliver exceptional service by managing policy changes, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and record updates within agency systems.
- Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks associated with business operations in alignment with compliance policies.
What You Have:
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
- At least 1 year of experience in insurance sales and service, preferably in a commercial insurance agency or broker setting.
- Valid Property and Casualty insurance license in your home state, or the ability to obtain it within 90 days.
What Sets You Apart:
- 2+ years of experience in Commercial Lines Insurance, with a focus on writing new business (excluding renewals).
- Experience quoting and binding directly with insured clients for 2+ years.
- Familiarity with Agency Management Systems and Salesforce.
- Experience in a multi-carrier Commercial Lines environment.
- Knowledge in handling Commercial lines across multiple states.
- Background in a call center environment.
- Active P&C General Lines License for your home state.
Compensation: The salary range for this role is $43,680.00 - $76,610.00.

USAA maintains a comprehensive process for assessing market data to set competitive compensation ranges. Actual salary may vary depending on location and market data.
Employees may qualify for performance-based pay incentives at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
