Schedule: Full Time

Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Location: 480 W Central Parkway. Altamonte Springs, FL 32714

The role you'll contribute:

The Admissions Manager manages the flow of customers through the hospice referral and admissions process and supports marketing and customer relations efforts for the program. This role involves supervision of the Admissions team to ensure strong patient, family, referral source, and facility satisfaction; a positive public image; meeting and exceeding hospice census goals; and market penetration. The position shares in the education of the community and referral sources and participates in program enhancement activities that may fall outside normal scheduled work hours. The Admissions Coordinator, integral to this role, supports and develops marketing plans to meet growth expectations, oversees the admissions nurses and team for a smooth transition into Hospice care, and is responsible for the productivity of the team and documentation requirements to meet Conditions of Participation (COPs). Additionally, the Admissions Manager is tasked with the management of admissions and referral processes and staff, admitting new patients, and assigning their cases to Patient Care Managers - Teams, ensuring a comprehensive approach to patient intake and care coordination.

  • Oversees the recovery process, including follow-up with patients who are non-admitted, discharged, or have revoked the Hospice Medicare Benefit, and ensures tracking and monitoring of changes for future hospice needs.
  • Maintains knowledge and communicates policies and procedures required to comply with federal, state, and local guidelines, as well as Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance reimbursement requirements.
  • Provides overall direction of operations related to admissions and referrals.
  • Develops, revises, and implements schedules for admission nurses to ensure staff availability.
  • Reviews nursing documentation and charting to ensure it is timely, accurate, and complete, and communicates with the Health Information Management Department to update incomplete documentation.
  • Accompanies staff periodically to evaluate performance and knowledge, providing expertise and guidance to improve skills.


Qualifications
The expertise and experience you'll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications:
  • Associate's of Nursing
  • 1+ year healthcare supervisory experience
  • 1+ year critical care nursing
  • Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure In Florida
  • Valid in state Driver's License with current car insurance
Preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor's of Nursing,
  • 2+ years healthcare supervisory experience
  • 2+ years critical care nursing
  • Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing
