Part-Time Driver/Merchandiser

The Driver/Merchandiser (W & S) plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient delivery and presentation of products to various retail locations. This position combines the responsibilities of safely transporting goods with the strategic placement and merchandising of products to maximize sales and brand visibility. The role requires meticulous attention to detail to maintain product quality during transit and to execute merchandising plans that align with company standards. The Driver/Merchandiser acts as a key representative of the company, fostering positive relationships with clients and store personnel. Ultimately, this position contributes directly to customer satisfaction and the overall success of the sales and distribution operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record appropriate for the vehicle class operated.
- Proven experience in driving and delivery roles, preferably in retail or distribution environments.
- Basic knowledge of merchandising principles and retail product placement.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items safely and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Experience with route planning and time management to optimize delivery schedules.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or handheld scanning devices.
- Previous experience in a combined driver and merchandiser role within the wholesale and supermarket sectors.
- Customer service training or experience to enhance client interactions.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver products to assigned retail locations within scheduled timeframes.
- Load and unload merchandise carefully to prevent damage and ensure accurate order fulfillment.
- Set up and maintain product displays according to company merchandising guidelines and promotional plans.
- Conduct inventory checks and report stock levels, discrepancies, and customer feedback to management.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicles and merchandising equipment.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with store managers and staff to facilitate smooth operations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during deliveries and merchandising activities.
Skills:
The required driving skills ensure the safe and timely delivery of products, which is fundamental to daily operations. Merchandising skills are applied to create attractive and effective product displays that drive sales and enhance brand presence in stores. Communication skills are essential for coordinating with store personnel and reporting to management, ensuring smooth workflow and issue resolution.
