Job Summary
The Senior Nursing Assistant serves as a knowledgeable and skilled caregiver, providing essential support to residents in long-term care. In this role, you will demonstrate your expertise as a certified nursing assistant, while also assisting and guiding other staff members when necessary.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing resident-centered nursing care and assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility.
- Monitoring and documenting vital signs and residents' conditions, communicating any changes to the nursing staff.
- Assisting with meals and ensuring a positive dining experience, including preparation and service of food.
- Supporting healthcare providers and nursing staff during procedures, when needed.
- Participating in wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident involvement.
- Maintaining a clean and safe living environment for residents through housekeeping and laundry assistance.
- Completing tasks related to the Restorative Nursing program, including documentation and scheduling.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not mandatory.
- Minimum age of 16, with two years of clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- Ability to complete yearly specific competency testing and maintain continuing education credits.
- Completion of Restorative Nursing training within 6 months, if required.
