Responsibilities of the Diesel Mechanic:

  • Conduct repairs on customer vehicles and trailers
  • Perform basic welding tasks
  • Communicate with managers and customers regarding service completion times and costs
  • Monitor job profitability to maintain high-quality standards and minimize warranty claims
  • Prepare work orders for invoicing
  • Manage inventory and supplies
  • Compile lists of necessary replacement parts
  • Maintain a clean work environment and equipment; adhere to safety and environmental standards

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • A minimum of two years of experience as a diesel mechanic in the heavy-duty sector
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification or equivalent
  • Ownership or willingness to invest in necessary tools for the role (TruckPro offers reimbursement options)
  • Ability to lift parts weighing over 50 lbs
  • A valid driver’s license or CDL with a clean driving record

Physical Requirements:

This role demands physical activity, and reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities:

  • Frequent lifting, pulling, and stocking of heavy-duty truck parts, potentially exceeding 50 lbs
  • Standing for extended periods on various surfaces; operating a forklift as needed
  • Routine walking, bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, and climbing
  • Regular use of a computer during daily tasks

Work Environment:

The work environment may expose associates to typical inside and outside conditions, including but not limited to dirt, dust, noise, and varying temperatures:
