The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, integrating, providing, and evaluating the education, training, and development of hospital employees within Surgical Services and as needed for affiliate personnel and physicians. This role supports the organization's mission, vision, goals, and objectives through education and training to ensure quality healthcare. The educator maintains open communication and provides consultation to component organizations and practitioner sites.
Education- Bachelor's in Nursing - Required
- Master's in Nursing - Preferred
- 2-3 Years Clinical Role within Surgical Services - Required
- Experience in departments such as Day Surgery, Outpatient Surgery, Surgery Center, Operating Room, Endoscopy, PACU/Phase I Recovery, or Phase II Outpatient Surgical Recovery. Leadership and preceptor experience preferred.
- Professional License with State of Practice - Required
- National Certification - Preferred at hire; required within 2 years of hire.
- Provides structured, tiered competency-based clinical experiences for new graduates, with feedback and progress reports.
- Ensures credentialing and licensing are current, complies with regulatory agencies, and works with Medical Directors to facilitate quality patient outcomes.
- Plans and implements staff education based on needs assessments, evaluating and documenting outcomes.
- Serves as a resource for staff, supporting service line activities, and collaborates on quality metrics compliance.
- Responds to clinical expertise requests and facilitates new employee orientation, providing feedback on progress.
