job summary:
Seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee purchasing operations, inventory control and supplier realtionships within a manufacturing facility. In this role, you'll lead a deidcated team, manage key vendor partnerships, negotiate pricing and contracts, and ensure materials meet production needs to their innovative, US made products. The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of purchasing and leadership experience in a manufacturing environment - preferably within HVAC, thermal systems, or industrial equipment. Apply now

responsibilities:

  • Oversee all purchasing activities to ensure materials and services meet quality, cost, and delivery standards

  • Manage and support a team handling purchasing, inventory control, and vendor management

  • Act as the primary buyer for complex or long lead-time materials and components

  • Review and issue purchase orders, monitor delivery schedules, and resolve supplier issues

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure materials align with production schedules

  • Analyze demand forecasts and historical usage to plan material requirements

  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on performance, pricing and reliability

  • Negotiate pricing, contracts and delivery terms to achieve cost savings and stable supply

  • Track an analyze market trends for key commodities like steel, metals and natural gas

  • Review and approve team purchasing recommendations and pricing updates in ERP

  • Coordinate with engineering, production and sales teams to align material needs with project timelines

  • Address material shortages and adjust plans as needed to avoid disruption

  • Monitor and report on purchasing performance metrics and cost-saving initiatives

  • Lead supplier relationship management to ensure partnerships and consistent quality

  • Identify opportunities for process improcement and greater efficiency within purchasing operations

  • Experience level: Experienced
