CGP: Payroll Specialist

Century Group is partnering with a client who is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team for a temporary remote role. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $28 to $35 per hour.
Job Responsibilities:
- Process full-cycle biweekly payroll for both exempt and nonexempt employees, including regular payroll and off-cycle runs.
- Conduct payroll audits, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Handle payroll for approximately 1000 US employees.
- Understand and manage multi-state payroll, with a specific focus on California payroll.
- Assist with processing garnishments and general benefits deductions.
- Cooperate with different departments to enhance payroll service performance.
- HS Diploma required, Associate's/Bachelor's degree in business or accounting preferred
- 4-5+ years of payroll experience or in a similar role
- Recent experience with UKG Pro (HRIS and payroll processing) is a must
- Proficiency in advanced Excel functions. (VLOOKUP, Pivot tables) and accounting software's with UKG Workforce Management is a plus
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and regulations, especially for multi-state operations.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
- Great Attention to detail and organizational skills.
