Overview

As a frontline representative of our services, the Auto Technician Apprentice plays an essential role in delivering exceptional customer experiences. With our comprehensive training program and state-of-the-art tools and technology, you'll be equipped to perform repairs, replacements, and recalibrations both in our shops and on the road through our Mobile Glass Shop.

Your Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle glass repair and replacement services efficiently and safely, prioritizing quality and customer satisfaction. Ensure customer vehicles are clean after every service.
• Recalibrate automotive safety systems and conduct diagnostic tests as needed.
• Utilize Safelite's advanced tools and technologies, including True Seal®, Ezi-Wire, Glass Table System (GTS), and other work order systems.
• Operate both company and customer vehicles safely throughout your workday.
• Engage with customers in-person, via text, and over the phone to provide service updates and promote Safelite products and services.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned while adhering to company policies and standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license and any additional required licenses.
• Safelite SafeTech certification is required.
• Candidate must be at least 18 years old.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Capacity to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, and demonstrate physical agility.
• Competence in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely in compliance with all laws.
• Excellent customer service skills with a passion for exceeding expectations.
• Willingness to work outside in various weather conditions.
• Proficient in using computerized diagnostic tools.
• Strong problem-solving abilities for troubleshooting independently or in a team.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and interpreting the English language and technical directions.
• Professional communication skills, both oral and written.
• Adherence to company uniform and personal protective equipment policies.
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure and manage time efficiently.

This position involves driving duties monitored through technology for safety and compliance.
