Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (PICU RN)

We are seeking an experienced PICU RN to join our Pediatric Critical Care team in a high acuity, fast paced environment. The PICU RN provides specialized, continuous care for critically ill or injured pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive assessments and manage critically ill pediatric patients
  • Monitor hemodynamics, ventilators, and invasive lines; titrate drips per protocol
  • Administer medications, blood products, and advanced therapies as ordered
  • Recognize and respond rapidly to changes in condition, initiating emergency interventions as needed
  • Collaborate with intensivists, respiratory therapy, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
  • Support patients and families with education and compassionate communication
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMR

Requirements

  • Active RN license (state specific or compact)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent PICU RN experience in the same specialty
  • BLS required; PALS and ACLS required
  • Strong pediatric critical care, advanced cardiac monitoring, and critical thinking skills
  • Comfortable with ventilated patients, vasoactive drips, and rapid response situations
