Internship Opportunity: Research Scientist in FAIR Chemistry

Summary:
Meta is excited to welcome Research Interns to our FAIR Chemistry team. Our Chemistry team is pioneering AI-driven techniques to model atomic-level phenomena, focusing on applications in energy sustainability, drug development, and innovative display technologies. We offer internships ranging from twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) weeks, with various start dates available throughout the year. Join us to make a real impact in this cutting-edge field
Key Responsibilities:

Advance the forefront of AI technology in generative atomic modeling.

Create and optimize datasets to train and validate AI models in Chemistry.
-
Develop, train, and scale innovative AI models for Chemistry using PyTorch.
-
Conduct extensive large-scale chemistry simulations.
-
Build processes to integrate experimental outcomes back into chemistry models.
-
Optimize both traditional and machine-learning-based chemistry applications for efficiency.

Author research papers and contribute to open-source data and code releases.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Pursuing or recently completed a Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field.

Hands-on experience applying AI in scientific domains such as computational photonics, design, or chemistry.

Proven ability to develop data-driven models and execute real-world experimental designs for AI optimization.

Familiarity with scalable machine learning architectures and algorithms.

Proficient in programming languages such as Python, C++, C, Julia, or similar.
-
Experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch, Jax, or TensorFlow.
-
Must have work authorization in the relevant employment country at hire and maintain throughout the internship.
Preferred Qualifications:

Intent to return to an academic program following the internship.

Demonstrated success through grants, fellowships, patents, or noteworthy publications in prestigious workshops or conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, ICCV, ICLR).

Capability to resolve analytical challenges utilizing quantitative methods.

Proficient in handling and analyzing complex, large-scale data from diverse sources.

Experience in applying theoretical and empirical research methodologies to problem-solving.

Background in optimization techniques using machine learning or deep learning.

Robust software engineering skills demonstrated via internships, relevant job experience, coding contests, or contributions to open-source projects.

Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively within a diverse team.
Compensation:
$7,650/month to $12,134/month, plus benefits.
