We are seeking a dedicated Back Office Medical Assistant to support our Specialty Physician. This role involves a variety of tasks including checking in and out patients, taking vital signs, logging information into the EMR/EHR system (NexGen), verifying insurance, and covering the front desk during lunch breaks. The candidate will be cross-trained across all departments.

Responsibilities

• Assist Specialty Physician with back office tasks.

• Check patients in and out, taking vital signs.

• Log patient information into the NexGen EMR/EHR system.

• Verify patient insurance.

• Cover the front desk during receptionist lunch breaks.

• Be cross-trained on all departments within the Family Practice.

Essential Skills

• 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.

• Proficiency in appointment scheduling and patient care.

• Experience with electronic health records, particularly NexGen.

• BLS Certification.

• Bilingual in Spanish.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Phlebotomy skills are a plus.

• Ability to work in in-patient settings.

• Open to externs or candidates with at least 6 months of experience.

• Must pass a basic skills test after the interview.

Work Environment

Join a primary care clinic located in West Covina, operating Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, with no weekend shifts. The clinic has 8 providers, each seeing 15-20 patients per day. Employees are eligible for holiday pay after 30 days of employment. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Covina, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
