Description

Join our dynamic team as a Facilities Construction Cost Estimator and play a crucial role in shaping successful construction projects and facility services. We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced professional to provide precise and timely cost estimates that will support effective budgeting, forecasting, and execution of facility-related initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present comprehensive cost estimates for construction and facility service projects.
  • Facilitate the Facility Service Request (FSR) process by delivering prompt estimates and cost forecasting.
  • Analyze plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare precise time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project needs.
  • Conduct site visits for a thorough assessment to ensure accuracy in estimating.
  • Monitor projects in progress to ensure they adhere to estimates and provide updates or adjustments as necessary.
  • Engage in value engineering efforts to identify cost-saving opportunities while upholding quality and compliance standards.
  • Maintain and enhance historical cost databases and estimation tools.
  • Contribute to budgeting, planning, and scheduling efforts for projects.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Able to successfully navigate security clearance processes to attain a TS/SCI with a Poly clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field with 4-8 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of related experience.
  • Possess certifications like Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or Certified Cost Professional (CCP).
  • Demonstrated expertise in supervising construction projects and facility maintenance.
  • Strong skills in Autodesk AutoCAD for interpreting construction drawings.
  • Proficient in project management and construction scheduling.
  • Solid knowledge of industry building codes, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
  • Exceptional budgeting and cost forecasting skills.
  • Experience with construction inspections and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Able to lead and mentor junior staff while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Outstanding communication skills with a proven record of collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with the process of developing technical specifications and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possession of professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or PE (Professional Engineer).
  • Exposure to strategic planning linking construction endeavors with long-term organizational objectives.
  • In-depth understanding of contract management and experience in negotiating and administering contracts.
  • Ability to manage multiple contractors and subcontractors on complex, high-value projects.
  • Expertise in workforce planning for optimal staffing throughout project lifecycles.
  • Experience ensuring adherence to environmental and occupational safety standards.
  • Familiar with project management tools like MS Project or Primavera P6.
  • Experience in government, institutional, or major commercial sectors handling complex regulatory demands.

Pay Range: Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
