Take charge of our day-to-day operations, so we remain the trusted source for aviation repair and maintenance. Work with your team to implement the right processes and practices across our organization to help ensure flight and product efficiency.
As a Welder, you'll operate metal fabrication equipment such as gas tungsten arc (GTAW), gas metal arc (GMAW), flux-cored arc (FAW), plasma arc (PAW), shielded metal arc (SMAW), and resistance welding.
What you'll do:
- Produce a variety of parts from shop drawings to conform to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
- Operate brazing and soldering equipment
- Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears, and other metal straightening and bending machines
- Participate in continuous improvement of processes
- Cross train in other complementary skills to support production requirements
- Observe all applicable safety requirements
- At least 6-12 months of experience reading, understanding, and interpreting blueprints and basic welding process specifications under supervision
- Minimum 6 months of hands-on exposure to basic tool fabrication methods and standard shop processes, including measuring, cutting, and fitting parts to specification
- 3-6 months of experience using production tracking or inventory control systems to log work orders, time, and materials accurately
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (unassisted)
- Working knowledge of related company instructions, company processes, reworks process instructions, original equipment manufacturer manuals and MSDS labels
- Completion of a welding apprenticeship program; or equivalent
- Attainment of trade certification
- Attainment of applicable welding ticket(s)
- Well organized with attention to detail
