The Field Application Engineer (FAE - CSIE) serves as a technical liaison between Phoenix Contact and its customers, providing expert-level support in the application of electronic and automation products with a focus on software and networking. This customer-facing role is responsible for identifying customer needs, delivering tailored technical solutions, and supporting the sales team in driving business growth. The FAE plays a key role in pre?and post?sales activities, ensuring customer satisfaction and promoting the value of the companys product portfolio. This position is an individual contributor role and does not include formal people?management responsibilities.
This role is responsible for California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Oregon, Washington and Idaho.
The selected candidate can live in Greater Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Bay Area, Sacramento, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Portland, Seattle, Phoenix or Spokane metro areas.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with sales teams to identify and qualify new business opportunities through technical consultation and solution development.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers, including product demonstrations, application guidance, and troubleshooting.
- Develop and deliver technical training to internal teams, channel partners, and customers.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on the companys product offerings, staying current on industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Support the integration of company products into customer applications, including system design, configuration, and validation.
- Assist in the development of technical documentation, application notes, and white papers.
- Participate in trade shows, webinars, and customer events to promote solutions and build brand awareness.
- Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to provide market feedback and influence product development.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, project status, and technical issues using CRM and support tools.
- Meet or exceed sales growth objectives as established by the manager.
- Take directions to actively develop new partners.
- Act as ambassador in your specified territory.
- Take lead in training PxC Sales and channel partners in PxC value proposition and offering.
- Be proficient in R3/BASE selling skills and implementing strong customer relationships.
- Utilize Pivotal CRM as the primary customer planning, reporting, measurement, and opportunity tracking tool.
- Be proficient in and drive the use of all sales tools provided to support local markets.
- Active involvement in industry?related associations, distributors, and customer events.
- Demonstrate technical competence on all products/solutions within area of focus.
- Maintain all corporate policies, procedures, and programs including quotations, lead follow?up, and timely reporting.
- Work independently to manage and develop channel partners through utilization of joint sales activities, trainings, and mutual action plans.
- Where applicable, work with Key Account Management and Marketing to implement global/national account strategies in?order to achieve program objectives.
- Four?year degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
- 57 years of experience in a technical support, application engineering, control engineering, or field engineering role.
- Strong knowledge of industrial automation, control systems, control system software, or electronic components.
- Preferred experience with architecting, designing, and writing applications with software and tools such as IEC61131?3 PLC software, Codesys, HMI, HLL (C++, Python), SCADA, Machine Learning, Profinet, EtherCAT, OPC?UA, ModbusTCP, and related technologies.
- Must be able to travel via airplane.
- Must have a valid drivers license and be able to operate an automobile for up to six hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs (sample, demos, literature).
- Must be able to travel overnight 35%+ or as dictated by assigned territory.
- Comply with company dress code guidelines.

Base salary: $115,000 - $160,000. Compensation information is made available in good faith. Phoenix Contact USA reserves the right to adjust ranges based on candidates experience, location and internal & external equity.
