Piper Companies is looking for a Tax Manager to join a publicly traded, founder-led healthcare company located in Silver Spring, MD.

Responsibilities of the Tax Manager include:
• Manage federal and state income and indirect tax compliance and planning projects
• Oversee global indirect tax compliance and planning, including sales and use tax and personal property tax
• Prepare analyses, memos, and documentation to support state and local income tax compliance, provision, and planning
• Assist with annual income tax provision calculations and related ASC 740 financial statement disclosures

Qualifications for the Tax Manager include:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field AND CPA or JD strongly preferred
• Minimum 7 years of tax experience, including state/local income and indirect tax
• At least 5 years in a large multinational corporation subject to SEC reporting or Big 4/regional accounting firm
• Minimum 2 years of people management experience
• Strong research and documentation skills with ability to interpret tax laws and regulations

Compensation for Tax Manager includes:
• Rate Range: $125,000 - $160,000 + 20% annual bonus
• Comprehensive Benefit Package: Cigna Medical/Dental/Vision, 401K, Sick Leave as Required by Law
