Job Title: Quality Engineer

Job Description

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting independent assessments of Non-Conformance Material Reports (NCMR), reviewing and approving rework instructions, Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions, and new documented information, products, or processes. You will also play a critical role in reviewing cause and corrective actions and ensuring their effectiveness. This role involves participating in cross-functional teams for in-depth root cause analysis, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)/Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret complex drawings, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) acceptance criteria, and customer specifications for various clients.

  • Validate rejections using advanced inspection tools and possess full MRB Quality Assurance approval with minimal guidance.

  • Resolve quality issues and conduct in-depth analysis of cause and corrective action using problem-solving skills with minimal guidance.

  • Analyze trends or common issues, elevate concerns, and initiate meetings as needed.

  • Create technical documents, such as 8Ds, to be submitted to customers.

  • Coordinate improvements with other departments and participate in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) with Product Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers.

  • Review and approve new Bills of Operations (BOOs), Bills of Materials (BOMs), training materials/processes, procedures, and new contracts, including part numbers, drawings, and specifications.

  • Train and guide Associate Quality Engineers.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in quality engineering and quality assurance.

  • Strong root cause analysis and auditing skills.

  • Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.

  • OR Associate's degree in Manufacturing or related field with a minimum of 4 years of engineering or quality experience.

  • OR High School Diploma with a minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering or quality support.

  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Intermediate understanding of ANSI Y14.5 symbology, interpretation, and application.

  • Intermediate understanding of machining methods, cutting tools, manufacturing processes, and both internal and external product value streams.
