The Opportunity
We are partnering with organizations in Mason that are seeking Setup Technicians. Key Responsibilities
- Set up and adjust production machinery and equipment according to specifications.
- Perform mold, die, or tooling changes and equipment calibration.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machine malfunctions and process issues during production.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance and minor repairs on manufacturing equipment.
- Monitor machine performance, cycle times, and product quality during production runs.
- Document setup parameters, maintenance activities, and production records accurately.
- Assist in training machine operators on proper equipment use and safety procedures.
- Proven experience (2-5 years) in setting up, adjusting, and operating manufacturing machinery.
- Ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for production equipment.
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and basic quality control principles.
- Understanding and adherence to safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Experience with PLC programming or basic robotics operation/troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles (e.g., SMED, 5S) or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in CAD software for interpreting or making minor adjustments to setup diagrams/fixtures.
- Certification in a specialized area (e.g., advanced hydraulics, precision metrology, specific machine brand operation).
