About the Food Service Worker role

Role Purpose

The purpose of a Food Service Worker is to prepare, cook, and serve food in a variety of settings, including restaurants, cafeterias, hospitals, and other establishments. Food Service Workers are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of all food products, as well as maintaining proper food handling techniques. They may also be responsible for stocking supplies, setting up equipment, and cleaning up after meals. Food Service Workers must possess excellent customer service skills, as they often interact with customers.

Food Service Worker Summary

A Food Service Worker is responsible for providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. This includes greeting customers, taking orders, preparing food, and serving customers in a timely manner. The Food Service Worker must also ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met. Other duties may include cleaning, stocking, and cashiering. The ideal candidate should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be organized and detail-oriented, and be able to stand for long periods of time.

Food Service Worker Duties
