Join our MedStar Health Urgent Care team as a Radiology Technician
As a Radiology Technician, you will perform both clinical and administrative duties within our healthcare settings, adhering to established policies and procedures. Under the supervision of a physician, your responsibilities will include patient intake, carrying out standing orders or protocols, venipuncture, laboratory testing, and patient follow-up. You will also be responsible for administering oral, IM, SC, or intradermal medications as ordered by a provider after demonstrating competency. Our certified Clinical Care Specialists (CCSs) in Radiologic Technology will also be tasked with performing and transmitting X-ray diagnostic images, all while ensuring proper documentation in the medical record to support optimal patient flow.

Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to MedStar Health's Code of Conduct and Compliance plan; comply with all governmental and accreditation guidelines, completing scheduled training in safety, infection control, and other critical areas. Maintain cleanliness and preparation of equipment and patient rooms.
- Be proactive in embracing new technology, effectively managing patient flow through consistent communication and care. Perform various tests and care consistent with MedStar Health practices, including spirometry/PFTs and EKGs.
- Execute venipuncture and selected lab testing, perform x-rays as per provider orders, and ensure safety standards are upheld. Always promote a respectful and professional atmosphere.
- Deliver care aligned with MedStar's mission and values, promoting patient confidence through exceeding their expectations and serving as a patient escort throughout their care process.
- Assist team members during peak times, supporting patient processing at the front desk and throughout examinations, with the ability to administer medications after demonstrating competency.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree.
- Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
- Externship experience in a medical or ambulatory health setting.
- 2 years of preferred medical office experience.
- ARRT certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technology).
- Licensed in Maryland, Virginia, or DC.
- BLS certification (Basic Life Support).
The position offers a competitive hiring range of USD $29.73 - USD $53.49 per hour.
