As a Home Health Occupational Therapist, you will:

  • Provide occupational therapy to patients struggling with daily tasks due to illness or injury
  • Collaborate as part of a dynamic home health team, including RNs, LPNs, CNAs, HHAs, PTs, and SLPs, focusing on each patient's unique care plan and goals
  • Assess patients, identify deficits, set therapy goals, and document progress
  • Guide patients through exercises to enhance fine motor skills and coordination
  • Recommend adaptive equipment such as grab bars and shower chairs for improved safety
  • Evaluate fall risks and implement strategies to enhance home safety
  • Educate patients and families on care plans, exercises, goals, and self-care techniques

Must-Have Qualifications for Home Health Occupational Therapists:

  • Graduated from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program with an active OT license in Kansas
  • Current CPR certification
  • Understanding of state and federal home health regulations
  • Strong clinical judgment, interpersonal skills, resourcefulness, and compassion
