As a General Superintendent in Healthcare Construction, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing complex construction projects. Role Overview
Your primary responsibility will be to develop and execute project plans, ensuring all aspects of assigned healthcare construction projects are managed effectively. This includes overseeing team dynamics, planning construction sequencing, and achieving project goals while supporting our company’s mission and values.
- Independence and Decision-Making: You'll operate autonomously, making informed decisions and guiding your team, seeking guidance as necessary.
- Career Advancement: Avenue for upward mobility towards Director of Field Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion our safety culture, fostering an injury-free work environment through proactive mentorship and training.
- Manage subcontractors and organize workflow for both small and major projects.
- Lead company staff and oversee subcontractors, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and EEO standards.
- Develop strategic work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
- Take charge of the project site’s care and operations.
- Facilitate daily and weekly project meetings to ensure alignment and progress.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to create, update, and manage project schedules.
- Monitor project budgets and costs, utilizing provided project management tools.
- Communicate essential project updates to stakeholders, including owners and governing authorities.
- Ensure all project documentation is kept up-to-date and organized.
- Oversee material and equipment procurement for the project.
- Participate actively in project negotiations and meetings, supporting the project team throughout.
- Support project closeout processes, coordinating with all parties involved.
- Engage in recruiting top talent to continuously enhance our team's capabilities.
- Promote diversity and inclusion actively within the organization.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Experience conducting effective presentations.
- Proficiency with MS Office and construction management software.
- In-depth knowledge of construction management processes and techniques.
- Ability to foster relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- 12+ years of construction experience and 10+ years in field supervision are required.
Working Environment
- Must possess a valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
