Data Center Infrastructure Engineer II

Position: Data Center Infrastructure Engineer II (multiple positions available)

Location: Columbus, OH

Multiple Positions Available:

• \tDriving improvement of acoustic design standards and retrofit projects across the Leased/Owned AWS Data Centers.

• \tInitiate and lead acoustic audits including on-site visits with Amazon's data centers. Produce reports outlining risks with recommended mitigations and remediations.

• \tSupport training programs.

• \tPerform field visits to review equipment specifications, deploy sound monitoring equipment, and collect sound data.

• \tUtilize industry-leading environmental noise prediction and mitigation design software for modeling complex acoustic scenarios and generate detailed sound propagation analysis.

• \tBe responsible for providing high quality acoustic engineering advice on a wide variety of retrofit projects globally while working with global Field engineering teams to achieve alignment of project objectives.

• \tConduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for acoustic issues.

• \tOwn design-solutions for acoustic retrofit projects. Review all design disciplines to ensure they meet the site acoustic requirements described in our design standard.

• \tWork with third party design vendors to review conceptual designs and in progress retrofit designs to ensure they meet established acoustic design standards, local code requirements, and any other requirements of the Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)

• \tCoordinate acoustical mitigation requirements, supporting utilities, and equipment locations, and provide detailed construction specifications for all sound and acoustics-related trades

• \tBe responsible for code compliance, design and installation standards, testing, inspections, and submittal review. Meet with AHJs as needed to ensure approval of acoustical features

• \tBuild trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Controls, Construction, Design, Commissioning, Product Managers, Technical Program Managers)

• \tProduce reports outlining risks with recommended mitigations and remediations.

• \tDevelop innovative solutions for AWS's data centers.

(40 hours / week, 8:00am-5:00pm, Salary Range $116,800.00/year to $160,000.00/year)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Must have 3 years of experience in the following:

• \tIndustrial, municipal, or commercial engineering including but not limited to the following sectors: data centers, power generation, oil/gas facilities

Must have a valid US driver's license and reliable personal transportation by start date.
