This is a/an 75% full-time equivalency (FTE) job with months off. The number of months off will be determined by the position's FTE percentage. The timing of months off will be set to meet the needs of the unit and the essential duties of the position. The salary grade and range listed in the posting is reflective of a 100% Full-time position. POSITION SPECIFICS
Penn State University Health Services is seeking two dedicated and patient-centered Physician Assistants to join our clinical team.
The Physician Assistant provides timely, efficient, and effective care for the treatment of health conditions and the promotion of wellness within the University community. This role performs a variety of medical surveillance examinations and serves as a clinical resource supporting students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Assessment & Care
- Review patient medical history and perform comprehensive physical examinations.
- Provide healthcare services and education focused on preventing illness and supporting overall wellness.
- Make evidence-based decisions and recommendations regarding diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate patient management plans.
- Counsel and educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatments, and self-care.
- Perform essential medical and minor surgical procedures as needed.
- Manage a variety of acute medical conditions with appropriate clinical interventions.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, professional colleagues, and other members of the healthcare system.
- Coordinate care with case managers and Workers' Compensation representatives for injury-related cases.
- Maintain awareness of funding sources and practice cost-effective healthcare.
- Serve on committees, task forces, and working groups within the University.
- Provide training and educational support to staff; may also contribute to the training of interns and medical students.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the delivery of high-quality care.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree3+ years of relevant experienceRequired Certifications:Licensed Physician Assistant - Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine
BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES
This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $97,100.00 - $145,700.00.
