Schedule

Monday - Friday, various shifts available: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

Job Description

The Mammography Technologist will perform mammography tests and develop results to produce quality breast images for radiologists. The technologist will evaluate patient history and physician orders to ensure appropriate procedures are conducted.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mammography tests and develop imaging results for breast examinations.
  • Evaluate patient history and physician orders to ensure proper procedures are executed.
  • Assist physicians in special procedures as required.
  • Process Quality Control checks on systems following American College of Radiology standards.
  • Maintain documentation in the Radiology Information System to track patient procedures.
  • Communicate with patients to inform them of procedures and ensure their comfort.
  • Provide training and supervision to radiologic students during their rotation.
  • Participate in departmental Performance Improvement Programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant regulations, policies, and guidelines affecting the Mammography area.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Mammography Technologist.
  • ARRT (R) certification required; ARRT Advanced Certification in Mammography preferred.
  • Experience with screening, diagnostic mammograms, and assisting with biopsies and needle localizations is highly preferred.
  • Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification from the Texas Department of State Health Services or Texas Medical Board is required.
