The Team: Our Digital Modernization team is currently assisting a federal client in the Washington, DC Metro Area. We emphasize Agile delivery and technical best practices to enhance data governance strategy and maximize the reuse of data elements for high data quality.
The Work: As the Lead Appian Developer, you will:
- Provide expert leadership on projects, encompassing enterprise application architecture, design reviews, and technical mentorship.
- Utilize Appian's and industry best practices to operate and maintain existing solutions.
- Drive the design and delivery of Business Process Management (BPM) implementations to mitigate project risks.
- Develop innovative solutions based on user requirements while ensuring adherence to best practices and minimizing technical debt.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Certified Level 2 Appian Developer.
- Over 10 years of relevant work experience or a comparable mix of education and experience.
- 1+ years of experience with BPM and data integration technologies, including CMMN, BPMN, APIs, and Oracle databases.
- 4+ years' experience in business process modeling and optimization.
- Hands-on experience with the Appian platform for at least 4 years.
- Familiarity with Application Servers like JBoss, WebLogic, IIS, etc.
- 4+ years in configuring, debugging, and integrating systems as a developer.
- 4+ years in all software development phases for large-scale applications following Agile methodologies.
- 3+ years in designing and implementing SOAP and REST Web Services.
- Skilled in gathering and refining user requirements.
- 4+ years of experience with relational databases and SQL scripting (Oracle preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a team lead role with oversight responsibilities.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Desirable Experience:
- Certified Level 3 Appian Developer.
- Java development experience is a strong plus.
- 2+ years working on software development projects in a federal government setting.
- Experience defining and documenting architecture for technology implementations.
- Familiarity with various industry platforms and programming languages such as Appian BPM, IBM WebSphere, Mule, and Java.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Application Integration (SOA, ESB) and n-tier client-server architectures.
- Strong analytical and technical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
