Role Overview

We are actively seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer with extensive experience in injection molding to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will lead technical projects from conceptualization to mass production, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and adherence to quality standards. The successful candidate will engage closely with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless project execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties is representative and may be expanded to encompass other responsibilities as deemed necessary by management:

  • Lead the management of new product introduction (NPI) projects within the injection molding process.
  • Coordinate efforts across design, tooling, production, quality, and supply chain teams to achieve project milestones.
  • Regularly report project status to customers and the internal steering committee.
  • Develop project timelines, monitor progress, and proactively address potential risks or delays.
  • Provide technical insights on mold design, tooling specifications, and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Oversee the vendor quotation process, reviewing and comparing supplier offers to ensure both cost competitiveness and technical compliance.
  • Manage tooling trials, mold validations, and process optimization initiatives.
  • Support project cost estimation, budgeting, and resource planning.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards (ISO, IATF) and meet customer requirements.
  • Maintain open and clear communication with stakeholders regarding project status, risks, and deliverables.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in tooling, processes, and overall workflow efficiency.
  • Liaise regularly with customers to refine projects and propose mutually beneficial enhancements.
  • Oversee tool repairs and modifications, from quoting through to toolmaker assignment and production alignment.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Plastics Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of project engineering experience within the injection molding industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mold design, tooling, polymer materials, and processing parameters.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation tools.
  • Competency in Mold Flow analysis, warp analysis, and prototyping while collaborating with vendors and customer tool design engineers.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles will be an advantage.

Compensation details: $100,000 - $130,000 Yearly Salary
