Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Certified Surgical Technician, you will work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse to ensure high-quality nursing care in the operating room. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing direct patient care and monitoring.
  • Scrubbing in and assisting during surgical procedures.
  • Maintaining the operating room and preparing it for upcoming surgeries.
  • Documenting clinical data accurately in medical records.
  • Collaborating closely with the nursing staff on clinical decisions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Rotating to various ambulatory surgery center facilities as needed.
  • Performing specialized technical skills for surgical technologists as outlined by the Association of Surgical Technologists.
  • Preparing the surgical area by ensuring all instruments, supplies, and equipment are ready and sterile.
  • Contributing to maintaining a sterile environment during procedures.
  • Assisting with room turnover and ensuring cleanliness between surgeries.
  • Setting up for future surgical days by organizing equipment and supplies.

Qualifications Required:

  • Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist.
  • A minimum of one year experience in an operating room, preferably at an ambulatory surgery center.
  • Current BCLS Certification (online certifications are not accepted).
