Burn Surgeon Locum Tenens
Location: San Francisco, CA
Start Date: November 3, 2025
Duration: 6 months, with option to extend
On-Call: Yes 24-hour call shifts

Schedule:

  • 24-hour call shifts (7:00 AM 7:00 AM)
    • Includes 6 8 hours on-site (clinic, rounding, consults, admissions)
  • Additional 8-hour clinical shifts (clinic, inpatient, surgeries)
  • Approx. shifts/month
  • 1 week/month availability preferred, flexible

Practice Setting:

  • Inpatient burn unit
  • Outpatient burn clinic

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Burn surgery and acute inpatient management
  • Wound care in outpatient clinic
  • Inpatient rounding, consults, and admissions
  • Collaborative care with NPs and hospital staff

Facility Details:

  • 15-bed burn unit
  • EMR: Cerner
  • Teaching hospital & Level I trauma center
  • Support:
    • 2 burn surgeons on-site
    • Dedicated NP in outpatient clinic
    • Full inpatient hospital support

Requirements:

  • Board Certified in Surgery
  • Fellowship-trained in Burn Surgery (Required)
  • CA license preferred (IMLC and pending CA licensure candidates considered)
  • DEA license required
  • Inpatient burn surgery experience (new grads with fellowship considered)
