The Technical Training Specialist is responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for aerospace technicians in manufacturing, assembly, and testing operations. This role ensures technicians are proficient in company standards, regulatory compliance, safety, and technical procedures essential to the production of aerospace systems and components.

Qualifications:

  • Working collaboratively with subject matter experts (SMEs) and responsible engineers to create training material to be used in face-to-face or virtual instructor-led sessions using learning principles to enhance the learning experience.
  • Assisting in the design, development, delivery, and deployment of multimedia and web-based training utilizing a variety of methods and tools.
  • Preparing instructors and hosting engaging in-person and virtual learning.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure training content accuracy and alignment with current processes and technologies.
  • Assess technicians' skills and maintain records of training completion and certifications.
  • Identify skill gaps and develop a training plan aligned with production needs.
  • Conduct classroom and hands-on technical training for new hires and existing technicians.
  • Train personnel on topics such as harness assembly, harness routing, polymerics, mechanical installations, soldering, MLI installation, precision assembly, tooling, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and implement improvements based on feedback and performance outcomes.
  • Stay current with industry developments, aerospace manufacturing standards, and emerging technologies.
  • Reinforce York company safety protocols, human factors awareness, and quality control standards.
Desired Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in aerospace manufacturing, assembly, or maintenance operations.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aviation Maintenance, or related field. Equivalent technical experience may be considered.
  • 2+ years of experience in technical training or instructional design preferred.
  • Ability to translate concepts into training products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience setting up and hosting trainings. virtual training using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or an equivalent technology.
  • Ability to collaborate across York with enthusiasm for our work and respect for our co-workers.
  • Strong technical understanding of space vehicle systems, composites, or precision manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in MS Office and training management software (e.g., LMS).
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles a plus.
Working Conditions:
  • Combination of desk work for training development, shop floor, and on-the-job training environments.
  • Required travel between York sites or customer facilities.
  • The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in Greenwood Village, CO.
