Required Skills:

Data Center Production Engineer Responsibilities:

1. Perform deep dives and analyze complex technical issues within the data center, ranging from automated tooling to hardware failures and network issues.

2. Work as a technical lead with cross functional teams on large scale data center projects and initiatives.

3. Provide cross data center support and identify potentially larger issues, displaying effective communication when something is identified.

4. Work with internal hardware teams and vendors to help resolve complex technical issues, maintain high hardware quality levels and influence future design to ensure ease of serviceability.

5. Understand/analyze issues and be able to update and develop scripts and smaller sets of software.

6. Use data to drive maximum server fleet up-time and utilization rates, by understanding hardware failure rates and SLAs to customers.

7. Identify trends and systemic issues in the fleet and drive resolution.

8. Mentor team members to evaluate and identify better ways to resolve issues and define updates to tools and processes.

9. Provide guidance and mentor technical leads and the go-to technical resource for management.

10. Build cross functional relationships and have the ability to influence policies and procedures to improve global data center operations.

11. Participate in an on-call rotation.

12. Position requires at least 15% travel to other Meta data centers to work with other sites and engineering groups.

13. Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or related field

14. Requires completion of a university-level course/research project/internship/thesis, which involved the following:

15. 1. Knowledge of Linux and hardware systems support in an Internet operations environment
16. 2. Experience modifying and developing in Python, SQL, and/or shell scripting
17. 3. Knowledge of system design and development, Object Oriented Design, Test-driven Development
18. 4. Knowledge of the interdependencies of data center functions and technologies
19. 5. Experience managing multiple projects within the same time schedule

20. and 6. Experience in modifying and developing in commonly used scripting or programming languages

Public Compensation:

$135,695/year to $158,400/year + bonus + equity + benefits
