The Mechanical Engineering (ME) Organization leads the design and development of missile, radar, sonar, torpedo, and combat system equipment. Our team utilizes cutting-edge tools, processes, and Raytheon’s Six Sigma principles across various disciplines including engineering, manufacturing, and documentation.
The Air Defense Ground Equipment (ADGE) Department is pivotal in mechanical design, development, and the integration of platform systems, including missile hardware and facility development. We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer focused on Missile Certified Round Assembly Facility (CRAF) Support, particularly for the assembly and test of the Patriot PAC-2 GEM-T missile.
This is a remote role with significant travel opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as one of the primary Raytheon engineering representatives at CRAF sites, frequently embedded on-site (travel required).
- Serve as a hands-on working lead.
- Travel frequently to Letterkenny and various international locations for Patriot Missile integration.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and suppliers to develop design solutions and resolve technical challenges.
- Work independently to meet assigned schedule, financial, and technical goals.
- Participate in issue resolution and conduct trade studies for informed technical decisions.
- Apply problem-solving skills in a dynamic team environment.
- Mentor and support less experienced engineers.
- Utilize expertise in PAC-2 Missile Integration, including assembly and test processing, tooling and equipment, and test equipment.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree and a minimum of 3 years' experience.
- 2 years of experience in designing and developing mechanical equipment, preferably for military applications.
- Experience in production support.
- Proficiency with CAD design and related product data management tools.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in mechanical engineering or hardware systems design.
- Knowledge of military and commercial specifications.
- Experience in reliability or failure analysis.
- Demonstrated capability in developing technical solutions for complex user requirements.
- Strong results-driven mindset with conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, technical writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience using CREO CAD tools and PDM or similar data management tools.
- Familiarity with Configuration and Data Management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
