Dean of Student Affairs

The Dean of Student Affairs is responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering a variety of services for students attending programs on campus. The role is under the direct supervision of the Campus Director/President. Collaboration is expected with Home Office leadership.
Compensation: The starting pay range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000 annually.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create data-informed action plans to meet established campus and institutional retention, attrition, and grad rate targets, and regularly report outcomes to campus and institutional leadership
- Analyze student persistence data to identify at-risk populations and implement targeted intervention strategies with quantifiable metrics
- Monitor key performance indicators for student success, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage academic advising functions critical to student success, including satisfactory academic progress, attendance, GPA monitoring, leaves of absence, and schedule management
- Provide student support through academic counseling, workshops, and technology training
- Support college re-entry and reinstatement efforts
- Oversee disability accommodation requests and serve as the Student Affairs point of contact
- Coordinate and facilitate New Student Orientation and other required student-focused events
- Lead student engagement functions including Student Council/Associated Student Body, award ceremonies, mentorship program, and student clubs
- Identify student professional/academic needs and coordinate all student affairs workshops
- Connect students with internal and external resources to drive retention, including childcare, transportation, and related services
- Collaborate with Student Services departments to provide student resources and career events
- Manage Federal Work Study students where applicable
- Serve as the liaison between students, faculty, staff, Registrar, and Student Services Departments
- Establish consistent communication protocols throughout the student lifecycle to support success
- Participate in enrollment services, education, and employment services activities as assigned
- Ensure timely response to requests and directives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages Federal Work Study employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these colleagues. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Education, or related major; Master's Degree preferred. Required degree(s) must be from institutions accredited by recognized U.S. accrediting agencies. Degrees from non-U.S. institutions are recognized only if equivalence has been established and provided. Minimum of three years experience in an educational setting.
Language Skills - Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos; ability to write correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to students and employees.
Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
Other Qualifications: Must have thorough knowledge of the Carrington College policies and procedures related to students and the education process.
