Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking a Commercial HVAC Journeyman in Fresno, CA to service and repair commercial air conditioning and heating systems for commercial and industrial clients.
Impact
• Maintain climate control systems for schools, hospitals, and commercial buildings throughout Fresno County
• Reduce equipment failures and extend system life through expert preventive maintenance
• Optimize energy performance and lower operating costs by fine-tuning HVAC equipment
• Ensure indoor air quality and occupant comfort by maintaining proper ventilation and filtration
• Support client retention through reliable service and technical expertise
Responsibilities
• Perform preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC systems including RTUs, chillers, boilers, and air handlers
• Diagnose and repair equipment failures involving compressors, motors, controls, and refrigerant circuits
• Test and adjust system performance including refrigerant charge, airflow, and temperature control
• Replace filters, belts, bearings, and other consumable components during scheduled service
• Respond to service calls to restore heating and cooling operations quickly and effectively
• Inspect and test electrical components including contactors, capacitors, and motor circuits
• Document all service activities and provide recommendations for repairs or equipment upgrades
• Communicate with facility staff to coordinate maintenance schedules and minimize disruptions
• Maintain service vehicle and ensure proper inventory of parts and tools
Requirements
Must-Haves
• 4+ years of commercial HVAC service experience
• EPA Universal refrigerant certification
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Valid California driver's license with clean record
• Ability to work independently and manage service routes efficiently
Nice-to-Haves
• NATE certification in commercial HVAC
• Experience with chillers and large commercial systems
• Knowledge of building automation and DDC controls
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
