Join our team as a Senior Document Preparation Specialist focusing on Commercial Real Estate Loans. In this pivotal role, you will handle the preparation and review of loan documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with closing conditions. Your expertise will be crucial in guiding the loan closing process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review Commercial Real Estate Loan documentation requests to ensure all necessary components of the loan package are complete before proceeding with document preparation or closing.
  • Prepare loan documents in-house for new loans and renewals based on loan type, complexity, and amount.
  • Manage attorney bid requests and oversee the selection process, preparing engagement letters, and coordinating the forwarding of loan packages to attorneys for necessary documentation.
  • Communicate regularly with attorneys, keeping all parties informed of progress and any pending items related to loan documentation.
  • Thoroughly review both in-house and attorney-prepared loan documents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to closing conditions including title search/commitment checks.
  • Examine insurance documentation (Flood, Hazard, Windstorm, Liability, and Content) for adequacy and prepare Flood Analysis forms as needed.
  • Administer commitment fees, prepare disbursement instructions, and conduct escrow analyses while developing amortization schedules as applicable.
  • Ensure proper processing of cases through the appropriate workflow system while maintaining a detailed production log of all loans processed.
  • Mentor junior document preparation staff, serving as a resource for questions and guidance.
  • Participate in training sessions and meetings, contributing to special projects and cross-training opportunities as necessary.
  • Assess and manage risks, providing recommendations to mitigate potential financial risks associated with compliance failures.

Qualifications:

  • A college degree, preferably in business, finance, or accounting, along with relevant banking coursework.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in commercial real estate loan documentation, including substantial interaction with attorneys and resolution of title and insurance issues.
  • Proficiency in loan documentation software, especially LaserPro, and advanced skills in MS Office (Word and Excel); familiarity with PowerPoint, FIS IBS, and nCino is advantageous.
  • Exceptional time management, organizational, and communication skills.
