Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Submerged Arc Welders for projects located in and around Olean, NY. This is a second shift opportunity, with a pay range of up to $35/hour based on experience plus $125/Day Per Diem to Travelers 60+ miles from the job site. Job Scope:

  • Operate mechanized sub arc welding equipment (LT7 sub arc machine) for structural steel fabrication projects

  • Perform 1G test with mechanized sub arc process (LT7, 5/32” wire), maintaining adherence to AWS D1.5 standards

  • Interpret and work from blueprints and detailed shop drawings for bridge and heavy steel fabrication

  • Set welding parameters, monitor weld progress and alignment on automated welding setup (travel carriage, manipulator or gantry)

  • Ensure all welds meet inspection criteria; maintain high safety and quality standards in all work

  • Collaborate with shop team and supervisor on production targets and workflow

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Welder

  • AWS D1.5 certification

  • Experience operating mechanized Sub Arc welding equipment

  • Able to Pass a Weld Test

  • Able to read and work from blueprints and shop drawings

  • Standard PPE

  • Prior bridge welding experience is preferred
