Unit Notes / Hiring Process

  • Hiring Process:
    • Profile review with MedSol Clinical Team
    • Interview with Unit Manager at the facility
  • Radius Requirement:
    • 60-mile radius rule
    • Driver’s License must be submitted
  • Orientation Requirements:
    • Clinician must be in-state during orientation week
    • First-day modules may be completed remotely

Unit: Cath Lab RN

Lab/Procedure Area Details
  • Number of Cath/IR Suites: 2
  • Average Cases per Day: ~4 (mix of Cath + Interventional Radiology)
  • Patient Types:
    • STEMI
    • NSTEMI
    • Pacemaker patients
    • IR patients (combined Cath/IR lab)
Required Certifications
  • BLS
  • ACLS
Required Experience
  • Cath Lab experience required
  • IR experience preferred or willingness to learn
Job Duties
  • Circulate and monitor Cath and IR cases
  • Pre- and post-procedure patient care
  • Pre-procedure and post-procedure patient calls
  • Support combined Cath/IR workflow
EMR & Equipment
  • Epic
  • MacLab
  • Siemens systems
Cardiologist Coverage
  • Cardiologist on-site during the day
  • On-call overnight
Leadership
  • Manager: Tara Horne
  • Nurse Coordinator: John Crane
  • Cath Lab Techs: (If you'd like, I can help clarify titles/coverage.)

Shifts & Scheduling

  • Shift Structure:
    • RNs work 4×9-hour shifts per week or 4×10-hour shifts
  • Self-Scheduling: Not specified
  • Block Scheduling: Not specified but can be added if needed

Call Requirements

  • Weeknight Call:
    • Approximately 10 nights per month
  • Weekend Call:
    • Every 3rd weekend (Fri–Sun)
  • Holiday Call:
    • Required
    • Shared among staff
    • 1 major summer + 1 major winter holiday
  • Call Response Time:
    • 30 minutes

Floating Requirements

  • No floating to other facilities

Dress Code

  • Provided blue scrubs

Unit/Department Orientation

  • Conducted over a couple of days
  • Occurs during the week after CSH orientation
