Job Description

Summary:

The Senior Director of Data Center Reliability is a pivotal leadership role focused on guaranteeing the consistent, compliant, and reliable operation of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) infrastructure across Oracle's global data center network. This position holds comprehensive responsibility for MEP maintenance in alignment with Oracle's high standards and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) protocols, while collaboratively engaging with both internal and external partners to propel industry-leading operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • MEP Infrastructure Maintenance: Spearhead the oversight and implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all data center MEP assets, ensuring adherence to Oracle and OEM guidelines.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Vendor Management and Engineering teams to ensure effective equipment selection, timely integration of OEM updates, and mitigation of potential risks.

  • Service Delivery & Validation: Supervise SCCS (System Capacity and Compliance Studies) and validate service delivery strategies to assure operational capacity and readiness.

  • End-of-Life Planning & Quality Assurance: Direct end-of-life (EOL) strategies, ensuring comprehensive quality assurance reviews with Engineering and oversight for equipment retirement and refresh initiatives.

  • Day 2 Operations Management: Proactively manage 'day 2' operational challenges to avert potential impacts on critical IT loads, ensuring seamless business continuity.

  • Incident Management: Act as the escalation point and leader for incident response, overseeing tier 2 technical support for field teams and supporting the development, integration, and monitoring of Facility Operations Centers across the Oracle data center fleet.

  • Building Automation & Centralized Services: Lead the Building Automation Operations team and centralized services to maintain consistent operational standards and rapid response capabilities across all facilities.

  • Continuous Improvement: Establish best practices, nurture a culture of safety, compliance, and innovation, and drive ongoing enhancements in operational reliability and performance metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related discipline (Master's degree preferred), or equivalent education and experience.

  • Over 10 years of progressive experience in data center, critical environment operations, or facilities management roles with substantial leadership experience.

  • In-depth technical knowledge of MEP systems and infrastructure maintenance, including compliance with regulatory and OEM standards.

  • Proven experience in service delivery planning, incident management, and leading cross-disciplinary teams.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management capabilities.

  • Experience in developing and managing building automation and centralized monitoring systems (BMS, SCADA, CMMS).

  • Exceptional oral and written communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Demonstrated success in vendor management and contract oversight.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Professional certifications such as CFM, PMP, LEED AP, or equivalent.

  • Experience in large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure environments.

  • Strong grasp of risk management, quality assurance, and end-of-life asset strategies.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $161,700 to $338,500 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity, and deferred compensation.
