We are looking for Data Center Technicians to join our rapidly expanding team. The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. This position involves in-depth hardware and network diagnostics followed by physical repair as well as participating in an on-call rotation.

All candidates should be willing to work both independently and with a team. Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful. In addition to hardware and network repair candidates will install equipment, create documentation, innovate solutions, participate in site-level project work, and fix complex problems within the Data Center Space.

Depending on the type of job, you will be required to engage in physical data center activities This includes all tasks associated with planning and tracking capacity, rack deployment, rack cabling, hardware and software troubleshooting, and rack decommissioning. All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodation:

• \tRegularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds

• \tWorking in cramped and/or elevated locations

• \tBending, lifting, stretching, and reaching

• \tStanding and walking for up to 8+ hours a day

• \tAscending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation

• \tWork in a noisy environment

• \tWork shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (covering both night and day shifts).

NOTE: Lump sum stipend will be provided to eligible candidates who relocate for this position.

• \tTake ownership of technical issues brought by their customer base, engaging other teams when needed to drive resolution

• \tShow a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving

• \tSolve problems at their root and step back to understand the broader context

• \tMaintain service level agreements through the implementation of proactive issue detection and reporting

• \tAre biased to act in the absence of direction or support

• \tImprove effectiveness through process innovation

You will be required to work shift work that will include days/nights/weekends/holidays.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience

- 1+ years of computer networking experience

- High school or equivalent diploma

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $50,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $113,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
