WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Utility/Dishwasher is a vital member of the back-of-house team, responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the kitchen and support areas. This position supports the smooth execution of service by maintaining spotless dishware, cookware, utensils, and equipment while assisting with general kitchen cleanliness and setup. Dishwashing & Sanitation
• Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment according to health and safety standards.
• Operate dishwashing machines safely and efficiently, ensuring proper handling of chemicals and sanitation cycles.
• Maintain the organization of clean items, ensuring each piece is returned to its designated area.
• Monitor dish machine performance, reporting any malfunctions to kitchen leadership.
• Empty trash bins and break down boxes regularly and dispose in designated areas
Kitchen & Facility Cleanliness
• Keep dish, prep, and storage areas clean, organized, and free of debris throughout the shift.
• Perform cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and surface sanitizing according to daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
• Assist with deep-cleaning tasks, including equipment detailing, walk-in cleaning, and kitchen shutdown procedures.
• Ensure all sanitation standards comply with local health regulations and company policies.
Teamwork & Communication
• Assist Cooks and Chefs by ensuring timely availability of clean tools, cookware, and equipment.
• Maintain clean and organized storage areas, including dry storage, walk-ins, and chemical supply areas.
• Restock kitchen supplies such as paper goods, soap, sanitizing solutions, and other essential items.
• Transport and store deliveries as needed, ensuring proper rotation (FIFO) and handling of ingredients.
• Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure a smooth service flow and timely support during peak hours.
• Communicate equipment or supply issues to the Sous Chef, Executive Chef, or Manager on Duty.
• Maintain a positive, professional attitude while contributing to a collaborative kitchen environment.
• Assist with additional tasks as requested by kitchen leadership.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• Previous experience as a Dishwasher, Utility Worker, or Kitchen Porter preferred but not required.
• Strong work ethic and the ability to stay focused in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Understanding of or willingness to learn proper sanitation, chemical handling, and safety procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and perform physical tasks required in a busy kitchen.
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
