QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with administrators and other instructional staff.
- Ability to speak and write effectively.
- Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge and experience with current best practices in work-based learning
- Facilitate classroom opportunities that align with career exploration and work-based learning.
- Identify interested and qualified students.
- Facilitate work-based learning placement.
- Ensure equitable access to work-based learning experiences.
- Assess student interest in various career pathways and use the information to develop career exploration curriculum.
- Coordinate and assist in the facilitation of employment skills workshops such as job interviewing, job application and resume writing.
- Conduct student work-based learning orientation including duties and responsibilities, compensation, benefits, schedules, and working conditions.
- Provide students with school-based opportunities to build their knowledge and skills in preparation for WBL experiences outside of the classroom.
- Cultivate community partnerships to help secure contacts for students.
- Finalize each student internship training agreement and training plan with the student, parent/guardian, and employer.
- Help maintain an employer/labor database to track student internship opportunities as well provide reports on program participants.
- Coordinate summer learning experiences.
- Provide professional development for teachers surrounding work-based learning and how to embed in their classroom.
- Collaborate across disciplines to support implementation of work-based learning.
- Review and analyze data surrounding student access and engagement to work based learning.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Salary will be based on the FY2025-26 salary schedule.
