This position is responsible for managing a horizontal directional drill crew and running a variety of equipment including, horizontal drills, excavators and hydro vac trucks. The individual in this position is required to work at all time with safety in mind.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate directional drill rigs
  • Responsible for overall site and crew safety
  • Foreman must have the ability to Locate/Operate, trench, place duct, pull cable, and direct bury main-line and drops. Locate & verify all utilities before construction using multiple methods.
  • A demonstrated working knowledge of telecommunications construction: familiarity with Horizontal Directional Drills; ability to use cable placement equipment and tools and the ability to identify and troubleshoot problems
  • Individuals must be able to read prints and have knowledge of the underground process
  • Manage the build schedule/timeline
  • Responsible for running a variety of equipment including but not limited to; all types of Directional Drills, (Vermeer and/or Ditch Witch) and locators, various types of Trucks, Excavators, Forklifts, hydro vac trucks, etc.
  • Serve as single point of contact with company crews, and inspectors
  • Able to work in all kinds of outdoor working conditions
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Strong work ethic and desire to be a leader
  • Effective communication skills and a positive attitude
  • The ability to manage and direct construction crew
  • Valid US Driver's License with no major violations in last 3 years
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to work safely, with or without supervision
  • Ability to operate equipment, including, but not limited to directional drills, locating systems, trencher, backhoe, excavators
  • Minimum 3 years operating a directional drill (Vermeer and/or Ditch Witch)
  • Minimum 3 years of leading an underground crew
  • Minimum 5 years OSP experience
  • OSHA 10/30
  • Experience leading crew members
  • Class A CDL is a plus

  • $25.00-$30.00 hourly range
