This is an entry level histotechnician position and training will be provided as needed. Responsible for performing routine and advanced histology techniques, utilizing procedures varying in complexity, to prepare pathology specimens for microscopic examination by a pathologist. Maintains histology and cytology files of specimens, blocks, slides and data. Performs maintenance of instrumentation. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Supports and demonstrates Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients and their families and with co-workers.

Schedule:

  • Full-time | 80 hours every two weeks

  • Monday-Friday | 8-hour shifts between the hours of 4:30am-5:30pm

  • No nights, weekends, or holidays

Pay and Benefits:

  • $22.72 or more per hour, pay determined by experience.

  • $5,000 hiring bonus and $5,000 relocation bonus available for qualified candidates

Qualifications:

  • One of the following educational requirements:

  • Completion of a NAACLS accredited Histotechnician or Histotechnology program or

  • Bachelor's Degree Biologic science related field from an accredited college/university or

  • Associate of Applied Science Degree Associates Degree in chemical, biologic science or Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) from an accredited institution or

  • 60 semester hours from an accredited institution that includes 24 semester hours of science. Completed credit hours must include at least 6 credit hours in Chemistries and 6 credit hours in Biology

To be eligible for the hiring bonus you must be an external candidate who is hired into an eligible full-time or part-time benefited position. Previous CentraCare employees qualify if they have not worked for CentraCare for at least 9 months at the date of hire. Relocation assistance requirements: Must accept a position that offers benefits and may not have worked for CentraCare in the last 9 months. Must currently reside more than 50 miles away from Waite Park and relocate within 30 miles of Waite Park.
