Job Summary:
As a Nursing Assistant, you will provide compassionate care to residents in our long-term care facility. Collaborating closely with registered nurses, you will assist residents with their daily living activities and specific health care needs based on individualized care plans.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting residents with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Obtaining and recording vital signs.
- Providing emotional and psychosocial support.
- Supporting residents during meals and ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
- Documenting care and changes in residents' conditions for nursing staff.
- Maintaining a clean and safe living environment for our residents.
- Encouraging participation in wellness and recreational activities.
Please note this role may require you to complete additional tasks such as assisting providers and participating in departmental committees.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
- Must be at least 16 years of age; previous nursing assistant experience in long-term care is a plus.
- Hold a certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or be enrolled in a training program to obtain it within four months of hiring.
- Complete yearly competency testing and maintain continuing education credits, with a minimum of 12 hours required annually.
